How is your weight loss journey going?

I've now lost 6.5 lbs since I joined this site almost 2 months ago. Added to the 34 lbs I had already lost during the 8 months before I even joined and I'm down 40.5 towards the 150 I originally wanted to lose. 40 down and 110 to go...it's really slow going, but at least it *IS* going. And I went to see the dr. and she said it's more likely to stay off when it comes off slow like this (averaging 1 lb a week). I sure hope so :-)

So how is it going for you?

weight coming off ... slowly

I love your positive attitude about the weight coming off slowly. I really needed to read that today. The weight is coming off slowly for me too. I started doing a little weight training about 4 weeks ago, so I'm hoping that I'm building muscle too.

You have come a long way and made such a lot progress toward your goal. CONGRATS!

Thanks for motivational words!

The people who are seriously restricting their calores and pushing th elimits of exercising are the ones who lose a whole lot of weight. But statistically, they don't keep it off.

So even though I wish I could lose 10 lbs the first week like a lot of them do, I don't want any of it to ever come back. When it comes off slow and steady, your body has the luxury of getting used to each change you make. When you take it slow and easy, the changes just become a part of your life. Like they say, it takes at least 3 weeks to develop a habit. And then it's just a part of you that you don't have to think about or work hard at.

So for all those taking it slow and easy -- CONGRATS on your 1/2 lb losses! A 1/2 lb gone is a 1/2 lb GONE!

And this isn't a diet or a race that will be over soon -- it's my life. So it has to be something I can do really easy FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
