energy/meal bars
which ones have you tried and liked or not liked??
Fri. Apr 7, 5:52pm
I like the Luna bars, organic, smore supplements than you usually find in a bar (like essential fatty acids). They are supposedly marketed for women. Great flavors, try the lemon.

I second the Lara bars. I like the chocolate coconut and the cocoa mole.
Some of the Clif bars are good (brownie, black cherry almond, the pumpin one) and some are nasty (carrot cake). Clif makes a natural bar that is tasty and very similar to the Lara bar (made out of figs with less than six ingredients).
Luna bars are great if you are looking for something low-calorie (180), and pria are good if you're looking for super-low calorie (120). I like vanilla caramel pria and almost all of the flavors of Luna bars, especially the chocolate peppermint.
Some of the gals in my groups eat the Kashi go-lean bars, but they are too many calories without enough taste for me to indulge. Power bars are very good, especially the peanut butter, but not for 200+ calories.

oops, I guess I second the Luna bars.

Odwalla bars are really good

I've grown sick of all of them, after awhile. I suggest just eating about an ounce of nuts and a couple a tablespoons of raisins or dried cranberries or apricots. Cheaper and better for you!

I'm a fan of Clif bars (though they are higher in calories), and KIND bars. (Fruit and nut combos, some with yogurt [but I think those are much too sweet].) Delish!

Luna bars, Clif Z Bars (made for kids, 120 calories)

The kashi chewy ones are good, there's a trail mix one w/ almonds & dried cherries, fax seed w/ honey & peanut butter. I got a large variety box at costco & it's really working out for me to keep one in the car so I don't find myself out & starving enough to consider fast food.

metRX....yuck!

i've tried luna and i say blah. Odawall bars are the best! especially the peanut chocolat chip flavor one, yum yum!

Funny, I can't stand luna bars because they taste like green tea -- and I can't stand green tea.
I like the Powerbar Protein Plus. At 290 calories this really is a meal replacement, not a supplement. The non-yogurt-coated flavors are not terribly sweet, which I like, and it's not sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup, which some bars are.

My faves are Clif bars and the new Snicker Marathon bars. Low GI. And they taste pretty decent. They're about 220 cals, like Clif bars (which are about 250 cals).

To the above: I bet you would also like Clif Builders bars which are the most candy bar like of all Clif products. They aren't densely packed oats, they're like light, chocolately and nougaty. I think they have about 250 calories.

Hey, I saw some Payday "energy bars" at the store the other day-- has anyone seen or tried them?
Tuesday, April 11, 2006, 4:12 PM
the zone bars are super yummy, especially fudge graham, mmmmm.

PRIA
Pria bars rock! I like the 110 calorie ones, especially the mint chocolate. It has 7 g soy protein, too. I have heard the "best" bar now is the Balance 100 calorie bar, but I haven't seen it in stores.
