we have a new spotlight coming up in the next week or so

we will be sending out some emails about it when we are ready to go. it will be interesting because we are working with a big company who is bringing a new fitness and workout product to market. And each participant will get one!

This means that the people in the spotlight need to be HARDCORE PT members. We can't have people drop out and stuff. It will be interesting in that the goals will be exercise focused.

We are in the final stages of figuring out what we are going to do, but I wanted to give you all a heads up. We want people who are going to commit to this 100%.

It will be fun to try something new like this!

I'm trying to keep up with my logs and wouldn't mind being in another spotlight. I've been pushing myself hard exercise-wise, but I think the extra eyes on my log might add to the motivation and keep my nutrition in check.

count me in.. I could really use the extra accountability.. I just surpassed my 200 pounds released milestone.. since joining PT I have released over 40 pounds.. I still have 40some pounds left to go to goal.. I NEED to stay focused. I am in line to be interviewed for The Disease Proof Blog when I reach goal.. I am so looking forward to spreading the word about Eating for nutrition.. Eating to live not living to eat!. PT rocks.. thank you for all that you do.. it feels great to not be on this journey alone anymore.

Logging consistently for two years (since April 15th, 2008)

My exercise goal for the spotlight ... maintain current weekly weights routine, continue and improve my running, train for a 5K in September and a half-marathon next spring, and a full marathon eventually, as well as immediately adding on weekly swimming and cycling in order to prepare for a triathlon in coming years.

I have been a PT member consistently and actively for 3 years .. March was my third year anniversary with this amazing site..

My Exercise goal for the spotlight is to continue exercising 6 days a week.. cardio and weight training releasing weight and toning my body .

.. I want to build up my running, training for a 5k, a HM . eventually a full and its funny Jana.I was talking to my mom about taking swimming lessons to learn to swim well. I also want to buy a bike.. so yes in my mind someday I would like to work toward a triathlon as well.

would love to be included!

Woo hoo Lynneta, yet another tri-babe among us, welcome to the club! :)
Of course I have not done one yet or even started training or even found a specific race to do, but just the ambition to do it is what makes us tri-babes in my book. We are tri-babes at heart and that's what counts! :)

There's Jade who's a real tri-babe already (busy training for two upcoming races), and Kim and me and you with ambitions, and many more on PT that I'm not aware of, I'm sure. And Tina/Squanna is gonna become one too ... she does not know it yet but she is gonna catch the bug in time too ... sshhh, don't tell her I said anything ... I hope she doesn't read this ... I'd get in big trouble with her if she knew what I was up to behind her back ... :)

lol Jana... my plan is someday to come and join team Europe for a race or two.... I haven't done a race yet either, but its in my heart and I am pulling it out and building on it..

I am going to pull Ed and Gary.. my two running buds with me .. next to all my chicas.... that will be one kick ass time!!.. hmm Jackie.. Hab you in?

yep I think we should look into a race we could all meet somewhere that way we can start saving for it..

it would be a dream to meet all of you.. each of you has inspired me in many ways.. your like family to me!

PT member since: Feb 2010 - So I'm pretty new here still, but I check in to log food and check-in with my teams/groups usually twice a day, morning/afternoon and night.

Exercise goal: Next summer (2011), I hope to complete a half-marathon and a triathalon. I haven't been consistently working out since I left my rowing team due to injury about a year ago. But I'm all healed now, and I miss it constantly, especially the strict, daily accountability and competitiveness of a team sport. I'd love a new challenge.

I would love to do this! I'm a good logger and despite healthy diet and multiple days at the gym doing numerous different workouts, I cannot lose weight. I know if this could work for me it could work for anyone and I'm for 100% commitment!

I have been a mbr since 2005, but an active daily logger since Oct 2007.
Love to log, log every day, love to chat with my team/group members.
My exercise goal is to get in the gym 2-3x a week, and really get out there this summer by biking, playing frisbee, swimming, walking & actually start jogging (at 280lbs, it will be a challenge!)

Would love to be part of the spotlight, and have some extra accountability, and I love the feeling of community that it brings. :)

Consistently logging: - I logged for the first 6 months and then foolishly thought that I could do it alone. I quickly found that I must have the PT community in my life. So I've really been logging faithfully...almost religiously since the end of 2009. The PT community is my nutrutional and fitness rock, and I have seen this in almost every aspect of the eating and fitness adventure.

Exercise Goals: I'm running my first HM on May 2nd and have stuck to my training plan on all except for 3 days over past 6 months. After May 2nd, I will establish even bigger and better goals (speed for HM, full marathon, or tri...not sure which). My overarching goal is to consistently improve upon myself, push myself to my limits...and maintain this as a priority among my many daily responsibilities. Oh yeah, and also bring my family along for the ride....as they are all now exercising, eating nutritionally dense foods, and loving every moment. Love it. Thanks PT!

So....I'm in if you want me. Bring it on.

yes, I told Jade that the spotlight "usually" lasts about 3 months... but even if it lasts for 4 months or so, Jade is free for a while :)

I'm sooo super excited for it! and I really want to see crazy inspiring logs like Jade's, because SHE RULES MY WORLD!

yep, I am definitely committed to daily logging for at least 5-6 months [got to finish the year strong, ya know what I mean]. Then we will see. I pesonally think anyone who is out there doing their personal best and put in the hours ROCKS -- regardless of their current fitness level. I personally am inpsired by my M&M teamates everyday. :) AND, we will all continue to rock on regardless of being spotlighted or not. BRING IT!!!!!!!!

We are getting there. The fitness devices were just shipped to us yesterday. We are still learning more about the product but we like what we see so far. The product is a very small fitness monitor that you put in your pocket or wear as a necklace (size of a pack of matches), and then you connect it to your computer to recharge. The best part is that the data from your monitor is uploaded to a website where live coaches will monitor your progress and offer feedback.

We will be selecting people based purely on their likelihood in following through with using this product and service. Please be patient as we work to get this going.

Ok I am hardcare, but I am really new. I am always looking for a challenge so would so enjoy being in the spotlight. I see that some of my friends I just recently met on pt are looking to be picked too. I have been logging religiously since I started the PONR program on 4/13/10. I have finished an Ironman so I have the disipline. Sounds like fun. oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.

I definitely want in.

I followed the Point of No Return Program last year. Been a member since January 2009. Still refer back to those podcasts. I plan to run a marathon in June. I would like to do some kind of cycling event sometime this summer. I really want to beef up what I am doing in the weight room. ultimate goal, qualify for the Boston Marathon. Masters degree in Exercise Physiology. Not a dedicated Peer Trainer logger, but I log my foods for Weight Watchers, so I know I can do it and this program would allow me to focus on logging my workouts. Something I should be doing anyway.

I wonder how many of these people will log consistently. I've counted the current spotlight members and I think only 6 members out of the 7 groups logged this week. Some of them haven't logged since 2009.
It's the same story with my groups. Some of the members haven't logged since the day they joined the group, but for some reason, they're not kicked out of the group. It's so depressing to check the group and see no activity day after day.

I understand your concerns, I find that happens out with groups/teams on PT, but most of people who've replied on this thread about the running challenge are pretty active in the PT community and we'll make sure not to keep the spotlight dull at all. The spotlight should be setting the example.
