My boyfriend is a couch potato and I spent the whole weekend doing nothing
every weekend I vow that I'll go out and run around by myself and I end up sitting with him. Watching sports. I've got to break the pattern. Any tips are sooooooo welcome.

Tips? My tip is go out and run! lol... You have no obligation to sit on a couch! I'm sure your bf wants some alone time too.

I agree with the above poster, just go out and RUN! maybe if your successful for running everyweekend you can find a nice reward for yourself...like new dumbells or lowfat icecream cone.

Or, if you ARE watching sports, get yourself a balance ball, or do exercises while watching them... At least you won't be sitting like a lump on the couch!
The other thing-- see if there are any social clubs that have sports, such as softball, volleyball, basketball, etc. that you can join. :-) Maybe if the 2 of you join a co-ed team, you can not only enjoy the sport, but also be an active participant!

MY BF is mostly the same way, but if the weather is nice I can convince him to play frisbee or something.
For the most part, I wake up 2 hours before him and workout before he even gets up. If we end up doing anything else together, even just walking to get dinner, it's bonus!

make a date with a friend to go out somewhere. Hire yourself out as a dog walker or find a neighbors dog to walk.... say you will do something for someone else to help hold yourself accountable to actually going out... that way it is not just up to you. Once you have a commitment it will be easier to go out and break the cycle.

My husband is the same way and is rail thin so he doesn't need to lose weight. I started training for a triathlon.....I feel like I have a goal to focus on and while my goal is only to finish, its incentive enough to get all my workouts in while I'm training. The nice benefit has been that my husband will l join me on the bike trail on the weekends and sometimes comes running with me. We're both starting to get out and be more active the weekends.....we've gone hiking, for walks, golfing etc.......I say get out there and lead the way....

These tips are great. Thanks! Maybe I'll sign up for a race. Then I'll be obligated to get out there.
