What's good to eat before and after a work out?

Okay..I heard that it's better to eat carbs before I work out and protien after. I eat two eggs after a good work out and energy gell before. Is that right? I don't get light headed or anything so I assume that's what I'm supposed to do. Is it good to eat fruit afterwards? Any input would be great! Thanks!

It depends on so many factors. What time are you working out? How hard? If you are working out first thing in the morning you have to eat something even a handful of nuts or a bowl of cereal before working out. If you work out during the day, go about your regular eating schedule.

I prefer to work out hard and then eat normally because my metabolism is up. I have heard, however, that after dinner a good walk will help substantially with weight loss.

There's no pat answer, you need to give more info to get the right answers you are looking for. Just because you aren't getting dizzy means nothing. All that means is you had food within the last few days.

I do have to ask ~ what is "energy gell"? It sounds nasty.
