How to Get a Dancers Body?

Hi! Im 5'11" and in shape female, and workout regularly about 5-6 days a week.... my new goal is to shape my body more into a dancers body with long lean leg muscles and nice lean abs..... Has anyone ever had any experiences with taking dance classes and had good results?

I would get a video first. If you can commit to the video (there are several available), then you could move up to a once a week dance class. Not many classes will make you thin at only once or twice a week.

Agree with PP. The dancers you speak of take classes 4-5 times a week. But you can get a lean body by changing some of the workouts you do. Swimming gives a long lean look. Yoga and pilates do as well. Pilates was developed for ballerinas by Josheph Pilates. I have some great dance workout videos. Balletone is FABULOUS. The creator was a ballerina who couldn't dance anymore due to injury so she came up with Balletone. Julz Arnie is also FABULOUS (http://www.julzarney.com/index.html). I also love Stott Pilates.

To disagree with PP, if you are already committed to regular workouts, taking classes would probably be fine for you to commit to. Just make sure it's at a time you will be able to go!

I was thinking cost as opposed to commitment regarding going to the class. Dance class is expensive.

I'm not sure I agree with swimming giving a long, lean look. If I think back to the Olympics, I don't recall seeing lean swimmers. Perhaps I'm wrong and should look more closely.

Here's a link to just page one of multiple pages of images of Olympic Swimmers. They definitely have long lean beautiful bodies.
