Polar F11 heart rate monitor
Does anyone else use this model? I am trying to program it and I'm frustrated that the fit test gives me a OwnIndex number (35), not an average resting heart rate (should be around 65). I want to know how to set the higher end of my heart rate so that it doesn't beep constantly when I am over 80% of my max heart rate.
Also, do you really wet your strap everytime you use it? Yesterday I did not wet it but it still worked. I'm not clear on the purpose of wetting the strap/electrodes.
I think I bought a HRM that was more than I needed.

Press the right button, then press the right button until you get to Settings (two more times?). Press the left buttion (start). You should be at Limit Set. Press the right button to Sound Set, press start and select until you show OFF in the display.
That should work.

Op here, thank you for answering that question, but I think Idid not phrase the question correctly, but I may have figured it out for myself. I wanted the fit test to calculate my resting HR, not just my OwnIndex. I think it did b/c when I look at the user settings, it lists it as 60. I don't I entered that in, so it must have come from my fit test. I do want to confrol the alarm settings so that it beeps when I go below 50% of max HR and above 80% of max HR. How do I control the settings for the alarms for the specific % range I want to work in?
