Funny Commercials
Hey, I don't remember what company it's for, but has anyone seen the commercial with a bunch of women doing yoga?
The first shot is that of a line of women posed like the people in yoga workout videos.... Then they move to a shot of a woman who's trying to do this stretch where they reach back behind their head to grab their foot?
She's standing there--belly a little bit flabby and sticking out of her shirt, unable to hold the pose without wobbling and looking like she's about to fall over...
Makes me laugh every time (although I don't even remember the company --I think it might be for a car or something.)
I totally relate to the woman who is the "everyday" gal, and trying hard, but obviously struggling to catch up to the others in the group....
Does anyone else have any funny commercials to share?

I love the Quaker Oats Weight Control outmeal commercial with all of the women with a scale attached to their anke. Meanwhile, Willie Nelson's "You were Always on My Mind" is playing in the background. Very clever!!!!

Ooh, baby, baby...
The one for a mobile phone company with the 3 guys in the teeny office dancing to that "Ooh, baby, baby" song (can't remember the name) and another guy comes in and asks them where something is. They stop the music, solve the problem in 30 seconds flat, then start up the music and dancing again. I will run from the kitchen to the living room if I hear that song! It cracks me up!
Probably my favorite all-time funny commercial is one of the original iPod ones with the goofy dude singing "I Like Big Butts". Apple used to have it online, but I think they took it off awhile ago... too bad.

The worst commercials are for DeBeers - like the one when guy in the middle of piazza screams 'I love this woman', and the woman gets kind of angry but then smiles when sees the ring - shows women as cheap sell-offs...

I've been asking people about the yoga commercial too. Believe it or not, it's for a Ford Fusion. To anyone who has taken a yoga class for the first time and watched others do advanced moves without knowing how advanced they are, this is hilarious.

The "Beer Run" commercials for Miller are pretty good (the guys goes on a beer run during a break - the cops, traffic, everyone seems to help him beat another guy to the last case of beer).

I like the commercial for SlimQuick (not enough to get suckered into buying it though). You know, the one with the cartoon woman saying "my husband and I stopped drinking soda. He lost 12 pounds and I lost 1"....culminating in "stop already, what, are you trying to weigh ZERO??" It strikes such a chord when it comes to the difference in weight loss experiences between the genders.

My favorite ones are the "Crime Deterrent" - I think its for Sprint/Nextel. Two guys are in a golf locker room -
one says "you can watch live TV on my new phone" -
the other says "you can watch TV and downloads music" -
"I can check email"
"I have that...and crime deterrent"
"What?"
"Try and take my wallet"
The other guy tries and the one with crime deterrent launches his phone at him. It's so unexpected the first time you see it...we Tivo'ed it and watch it again and again even now...
I also like the "trunk monkey" commercials.

This one was years ago and so damn funny we taped it and watch it all the time.
This guy is picking up this girl on a blind date and he is all excited to see she is hot, he opens the door for her she gets in and rips a huge fart, she doesn't realize he had another couple in the car and he gets in as she realizes she wasn't alone and he says "wow" do we have chemistry" and the girl in the back says "we sure do" I can't remember what the ad is for but even as I'm writing this I am laughing.

Dunkin Donuts - making fun of how difficult it is to order coffee because you never know what language it is, French? Italian? Fritalian? "To us it's just a LATTE. You can order in plain English."

The commercials for Bell Canada with the beavers, especially the one where they are moving in a the one beaver catches the other dancing with his cell phone, that and the spider man one where the beaver drops in from the ceiling.
