Wanna hear the compliments
I'm feeling the need to express the complaints I received Sunday, and would like to hear about yours.
My neighbor asked me if I lost weight, after a simple "yeah" reply, he said "damn, you've lost a lot of weight".
Another one is, I had to bend over in front of bro-in-law and I apologized to him for me sticking my butt in his face. My sis-in-law said, "well, at least its nicer to look at"
Please share your compliments!!!

My mom said, "I don't know how you have so much weight on such a small body!"
Weird compliment, but, from her, that's huge! She essentially told me that I look like I weigh less than I do. Yay for muscle tone!

I generally don't tell people that I want to loose weight anymore because it seems that being slim is "bad" in my community. However, I told my mom how much I weigh and that I wanted to loose another 30 pounds. My mom couldn't finish talking becasue she was so shocked. She wanted to know how I could weigh what I weigh, be shorter than her and wear a size 10 while she wears a 14 and weighs less than me : ) She thought I was at least 25 pounds lighter than what I am : )

It's been a while since I've seen some of my friends-- they have all commented on how much weight I've lost! In reality, my actual loss has been about 5 lbs, but the muscle i've been replacing my fat with has really helped!
An even bigger compliment-- the lead singer of my favorite band (an internationally known band) told his girlfriend the other night that I looked like I had been working out. :-) She relayed that to me and that REALLY made me feel good! The last time I saw him, it was last July! :-)
A few months ago, I posted a thread about wearing fitted clothing vs. the baggies.. I think it's really helped me to mentally re-shape my image as well!

After being cooped up inside all winter, the weather was pretty warm out yesterday and neighbors were out and kids were playing. My next door neighbor dropped her bottom jaw and said "Oh my gosh, SKINNY! Look at you, you are looking so skinny...how much have you lost?" In actuality, I only lost 6lbs, but have lost more inches and I'm more tone now. I didn't give her details, but took the compliment with a huge smile.

More People Please
I know more than 4 people have received compliments. Come on, gloat a little, you're allowed!

My neighbor across the street said, "damn, you've been working out! You're makin' me look bad!" I've also had co-workers use words like "svelte" and "skinny" and "trim." All of whom know that I'm a freak out about working out and since working out with a trainer, has noticed the improvement. :) great thread.

Went out for dinner with a couple that we are friends with and who hasn't seen me in 2 months. It was a great moment when I took off my long coat (was wearing plaid miniskirt and tall boots) and they both said "Whoa!". Then the girl went on to say that I was looking really trim and was getting killer legs :D She works out religiously with a PT and has a fantastic body so I was very encouraged. Like another poster - I haven't lost all that much weight, but I've been religioius about working out and my body is really changing.

i never really got compliments about my weight loss besides my fiance now and i had to ask him about it. I dropped 30 pounds. I am 125 and about 5'9 i was 155 and i had a gut and jumbo thighs. The only thing i got out of it is a "you lost to much weight" from my mother. But i think as long as you feel better about yourself and you are healthy. and now i feel great and i am completely toned and have a feminine 6 pack.

my best friend could not believe I weigh 20lbs more than her, but am the same dress size. (I'm bringing the scale to her place tomorrow to prove it! :P)
There's a lady at my church who's always saying I look killer. The lifeguard has noticed I've lost wieght, one coworker commented (they're all male, so they don't usually feel too comfy talking about my weight ;)) My mom tells all my aunts how great I look, I went to a social and had guys staring at me.
It's been nice, but now it's hard to go on a date and have a guy keep his hands to himself...

My boyfriend says that my stomach is flat now and that he wishes I would quit working out because now when we wrestle he has a hard time with me. He is a third degree blackbelt so that is a big compliment. And yes he is just joking about me working out...he says the muscles are sexy :)

To the 8:56 poster
I think you look great!!! Good job on slimming those thighs and belly, which are two of the most difficult regions.

I've been tutoring with the same program and the same coordinator for a year and a half now... so I've seen him once a week each school semester, including last semester. But a few weeks ago, (after I had lost abour 35 lbs from last October) he said to me, "Can I just say that when you came back and started tutoring again, I didn't even recognize you?!??!" Then he continued to ask how I'd lost the weight and how he wishes he had the will power... That was definitely my best one :)

-I was on the treadmill yesterday and a guy walked by and said, "tell me how to do it?" I looked at him and said, "what?". He said, "tell me how to look as good as you do".
-A friend nicknamed me Bones yesterday. (I'm by no means bones but it was still nice).
-A friend of a friend told me that she barely recognized me because my face was so thin

Here's a funny one. My hubby's been watching me work out, dance, etc...
So today, when we got home from work,
he says to me: "Hmmm I can really see you lost weight-- it's showing in your face.
I asked him, "huh? what made you all-of-a-sudden come out with that comment? Haven't you been watching me go through this over the past 3-1/2 months?"
Him: "Yes, but I see you every day!"
Me: "So what made it different today?!"
Him: "I dunno, I just noticed"....
LOL... leave it to a guy to fumble around while trying to compliment his wife...
Although I'm not quite sure he meant it that way... LOL

I was once asked if I was wearing shoulder pads. LOL. I stopped working my shoulders out so much after that!

Asked to be member of Hawaiian Troop!
Well, I took Hawaiian lessons forever as a kid until I was 20 something. I took Hawaiian lessons last couple years again but not this year. Decided not to take them because of costume expenses and it's really the least favorite type of dancing for me.....
The last couple weeks my dance teacher has been BEGGING me to be in the Hawaiian Troop now that gets hired to do shows on weekends. The only thing that has changed is my weight!!! She made no mention of me being in the troop last year when I was actually taking Hawaiian lessons. I think she thought I didn't have the figure for it but now she thinks I'm "worthy"!!!!
Blozzom :-)
