Depo Provera
Sorry this isn't exercise/diet related, but it is a health concern.
I noticed in another string on birth control that there were a few people who had been on Depo. I was wondering how long after you stopped taking it before your period came back? I stopped taking it over 6 months ago and still haven't gotten mine back. I'm just wondering how much longer I'll be waiting.

I've been on and off Depoo 3x. The first 2 times I was on no other birth control afterwards, and the 3rd time I went on the patch instead of getting another shot. All times are from when I should have gotten a shot and didn't - the idea being that's when it begins to 'wear off' and is no longer keeping you from conceiving.
1st time - 6 months
2nd time - 18 months! :O
3rd time - 2 months
Visit the manufactuer's web site for info on how long it should take Depo to wear off and see your doctor if it goes much longer.

I was on it for 1 year (4 shots) and it took about 5 months for me to get my first period after my last shot. They're still not regular though.

I would be careful with depo. My sister was on it and it caused all sorts of problems with her reproductive system. They told her at 23 if she wanted kids to do it now. She had my nephew (now 2.5 yrs old) in a very difficult pregnancy, at the hospital just about every week to include a 3 wk stay. She had him and 6 wks later and she stopped producing eggs. Now she is 25 and they are doing everything possible to give her a little more time before she has to have a hysterectomy. The doctors all said it was because of a problem with depo.

Just trying to show the other side :)
My sister in law was on depo most of her teenage years. She decided to skip one shot, and it just so happened that missed shot opened the door for my first nephew. Nine years later, she has four beautiful children, all extremely healthy. She opted last year to have tubal ligation performed (she had her "tubes tied") because she was so fertile, no birth control was working! So depo doesn't always cause such severe infertility problems. And as far as I know, she's always been very reproductively healthy, and none of her pregnancies were particularly difficult.
