A note from the self professed laziest woman in the world

I have often felt and called myself the laziest woman in the world. Before 2005 my day consisted of go to work and sit at my desk job for basically 9 hours. Go home make dinner (the fastest and least healthy the better). Then sit my butt on the couch and watch whatever was best on TV. Possibly taking the time to sit and read my son a book, play a board game with him etc, until he went to bed. Then I could take a bubble bath while reading a book and go to bed. While this still doesn't sound like a bad day, day after day like this, well is it a wonder why I was overweight?

Then I had my daughter in March of 2005 and hit an all time non-pregnancy weight high that I just couldn't ignore and decided enough was enough and in February of 2006 started to force myself to eat better and add exercise.

Well my husband just got a new weight bench last week and I found myself telling a friend yesterday how much I love it. It's a great addition to my elliptical and... wait a second was that just the laziest woman in world saying she enjoys a weight bench and an elliptical??? This has to be the wrong person. I mean when I started this I was going to force myself to workout but I was NEVER EVER actually going to enjoy it. It was going to be something I was going to have to force myself to do a few times a week just like you have to set that alarm and go to work.

Now I find I'm so much calmer and relaxed when I get my normal exercise in, and if I don't get enough in I just feel so tense. Who would ever have thought a half hour on an elliptical is more relaxing than a half hour soaking in a bubble bath???

And guess what else, now when I play with my kids while I still enjoy reading to them and playing board games I've found this place called the park that is so much fun, there are these things called bikes that the kids just think are a blast, and the most fun game in the world involves when all three of us chase each other around the coach in the family room.

I still have some of that closet lazy woman in me, but from the self professed laziest woman in the world to all of you out there just starting I promise if you actually stick to it and get your body used to the exercise you will find energy you never imagined, you will enjoy your life more and you will find so many new fun activities that you never imagined.
