starvation mode

Have learned that one of our deepest hardwired traits is that out body switches into "starvation mode" after a short time of not eating. When this happens or body hords fat and with opt for it's energy source protien ie muscles.

Very true. In addition, if/when you go back to "normal" eating, your body hoards the calories, so starts to store the energy in anticipation of the next starvation cycle.

Yup! This is exactly why its important to remember to eat small meals throughout the day. Small meals with healthy snacks between is the way to go to keep that metabolism moving!

Some chopped up veggies and hummus, a fruit, a cup of fat free yorgurt, rice cakes, raisons, nuts.... these are all good snacks to much on.
