Godfather I and II are my favorites by far. Superb acting and directing, fantastic character development, great cinemtography, and memorable scenes which actually influenced our culture.

I think that The Shawshank Redemption is just about perfect, and I would add
Fried Green Tomatoes to my favorites. Another I saw this weekend that I just love (if you grew up in the late 60's or early 70's you HAVE to see it, then cry for what your children don't/won't have) is Crooklyn. The music is great, the kids are super and Alfre Woodard is outstanding as always. Great post-I am always looking for missed gems.

fun!!! :-)

Galaxy Quest - (I'm into sci fi and this spoof on Trekkies is hilarious, with virtually no foul language or too much sexual innuendos.)

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy--with Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn... *** SIGH***
(Love the awesome costuming and the meticulous detail they took--the features about the costuming and locations is almost more fascinating than the movie itself!)

Other favorite movies:
All of the Wallace & Gromit films
Finding Nemo
and I love art films... :-)

Blow was with Johnny Depp-- he was a drug dealer, sold a massive amount of coke to the US market, got busted, went to jail, grew old there. Funny how that happens.

Movie...

Movies entertain us! But there is a film that is seemingly, Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, lousy. The movie reviews are atrocious – it gets less praise than Soul Plane. It's called Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (notice the pun I made there?), and like so many films released these days, it's a remake. It stars Amber Tamberlyn, Michael Douglas, and Jesse Metcalfe. The premise of the film is that a reporter tries to take down a crooked District Attorney (Douglas) with unexpected results. Fritz Lang directed the original, and it was his last American film. The reviews for the remake are terrible, so perhaps you don't want to talk to a personal loan company to go see Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.

Hard to choose one since there are so many good movies. Ok, let it be The GodFather. I adore it and I can watch it again and again. Especially, after I found here a region free blu ray player. I've never seen this movie in such good quality.
