Need Info on losing weight the healthy way

Okay, so I have lost large amounts twice in my life. Once in High school, by really bad ways, and once after my first child, through some good and bad ways. Now we are done having babies, and I have a lot to lose. I start back to the gym next week (baby is 1 now) due to not having a license the past 6 months (no, nothing bad, there was a paperwork error!). Anyway, I have been eating whole/natural foods for 1 1/2 months now and started weighing myself 2 weeks ago. Well, last week, I had lost 5 pounds! I weigh in tomorrow, and I am wondering, if I keep my calories down as I have been, to 1500 or under/day since I am still nursing the baby, and exercise, will the weight continue to fall off? Will it continue to come off the healthy way: 1-2 pounds per week? I have never done it this way, the right way, and I need encouragement!
