envious of team member

Have any of you felt that? I have a phenomenal team member who is not only currently very successful at weight loss, she's very successful at getting through a very hard time in her life. I would not take away her success for the world. However I got so down on thinking how good she's doing and how I'm just puttzing along, that I started feeling bad about myself, which then turned into overeating!

I just reread that paragraph and realized what a silly rant this is. Maybe if I decide to work as hard as she is, I'd be more successful, too. I'd better log off and go exercise! Thanks for the inspiration, fellow phenom team member. You're inspiring hundreds of women to follow in your sassy footsteps.

Phew - I'm glad you talked yourself out of that one! Definitely be inspired by people who are on fire and getting the job done. Any one of us can do the same if we put action behind our words!

hey you actually sound so humane here, perhaps many of us have suffered from this jealousy but the PP got it right we all can acheive the goal we just need top step it up and aim to be like them, use tham as a role model.

I think it's normal to be envious, but how you deal with it is what matters. I look at many of my friends who have lost weight and it seems like it was so easy for them, why does it seem so hard for me? But deep down I know it's exactly what you said....I'm just not busting my butt as much as they are. If I want what they have, I've got to do it all the way.

If you really value that team member's opinion, ask him/her what it is that is driving them. What do they find difficult and how do they overcome it? We can all learn a lot from each other, and if you've got a member who has got what you want, then learn how to get it!! :) (And then share it with all of us!!)

This is a completely normal emotion for many in a group setting and even can be expected when others progress at different rates. We even wrote an article that is included in our Tip Of The Day series that covers this. Day 11 I think we bring this issue up.

This is another thread on the same subject, and we have linked both of the page that covers this. We will make sure to link the page off the homepage since this is very common discussion.

I agree with everyone's comments in this thread. I do believe that we should use role models to help us and not be jealous...... however I have felt the same as the original poster before. I was once in a group that was totally going way faster than me with the exercise. I felt out of place because I could not keep up with everybody else. I politely told them I was leaving the group. I found a group that was more my speed and now I feel better with my baby steps.

life is full of ups and downs.. I am going through a divorce and have some family things Im dealing with, but my health is important to me.. If I am not healthy I cant be there for the ones that need me so I make myself go..

its ok to be jealous.. as long a syou do exactly what you did.. get over it and do something about it. and no it wasnt a silly rant it was perfectly normal.. and IM proud of you for realizing you need to exercise and work hard for what you want.

you will get to where you want to be. we will do it together. if you need me come find me Ill be happy to help you in any way I can
