What's your favorite low-cal cocktail?

I really miss a good Cosmopolitan, but who can afford the calories in Triple Sec and Rose's Lime? Even a vodka with cranberry juice and a twist of lime clocks up 100 calories (which will do in a pinch).

My current favorite is vanilla vodka & diet coke (~60 cals) -- tastes like an alcoholic cream soda. What's yours?

I drink red wine almost exclusively... because it is so good for me ;) ..but now I'm thinking that your cream soda sounds good.

For what it is worth, Pinot Noir is considered the healthiest wine to drink.

Generally Lite beer is about 100 calories per can.

Vodka Tonic with a twist of lime. Tastes so fresh and tonic is a hell of a lot better for you than regualar soda. Haha makes me not feel so bad about drinking.

Whoever said that tonic is a lot better for you than regular soda, you're wrong. Tonic is the same as soda. Some fancy places are starting to offer diet tonic, but they're rare and far between! Your vodka tonic is the same as, say, a rum and coke.

From the Schweppes website, an 8oz serving of tonic water has 90 calories, 35mg sodium, and 23g of carbs, 22 of which are from sugar. Keep in mind that a serving of regular soda is generally 12oz, and 140 calories. If 8oz of tonic is 90 calories, then 12oz would be 135 calories, all of which from sugar.

At drinkmixer.com, it lists tonic water as 10 calorie per serving, but, if you look at it closely, it considers a serving to be 1oz. For sizing purposes, a shot glass is 1.5 oz, so, that website considers a serving to be less than a "shot."

From Schweppes.com, their diet tonic water has 0 calories and 65 mg sodium (no sugar, obviously). It uses saccharin instead of sugar.

Many people mix up tonic water with club soda. Club soda has 0 calories, no sugar, and doesn't use artificial sweetener. It's basically just fizzy water. Tonic water is not.

red wine or vodka, club soda, splash of juice and a lemon wedge, tall.

and, yes, tonic is fattening while club soda/seltzer water is zero cals, etc. i highly recommend making the switch from tonic to seltzer/club... splash in a little juice for taste; once you do this, you'll never go back to tonic! it will seem way too sweet!
