Any meditation or visualization people out there?

I find that both mediation and visualization are really wonderful for me and my weight loss goals, but also for life in general. I am not a dreamy eyed cerebral person all the time. But I do find that even 10 minutes of silence each day, just focusing on my breathing helps calm me and also seems to have enabled me to focus and not get stressed out by multi-tasking mania. I am able to accomplish a lot more and to not let my mind drift so often toward obsessing on what's in the fridge or in the kitchen cupboards to eat...

I also find that when I have insomnia (which I do on rare occasions) I focus on my breathing and meditate right there in bed and this puts me right to sleep.

I can sometimes even meditate for up to 30 minutes when I have the time. I will even get up early just do start my day with it, because it centers me and prepares me. Just clearing my mind of all its frantic thoughts is amazingly helpful. I never fall asleep when I am meditating. I used to when I first started to learn how to do it. But not now. To fall asleep during meditation is pointless. Much better to remain focused on the breath or on a word(s) (or mantra) of your choice.

My blood pressure has really improved since I have been doing it. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else out there finds meditation helpful.
