Belly Fat

I'd like to hear from women who have been able to tone or lose their apron of belly fat. I seem to be doing okay with losing the weight but I am getting very discouraged with the whole belly fat thing. Previously when this weight (pre kids), I was able to tuck my shirt in and look okay, now I can't tuck my shirt in becasue of all this loose skin. All I ever hear is that surgery is the only way to lose it and it very well might be, but until I get to my goal weight that's not going to happen. I am 5'8 and 3/4"s, my weight now is 215, my highest was 260 at the end of a pregancy and 248 while not pregnant. I have been around the 240 mark for 12 years with 3 pregnancies. I am a size 18, but could be a 16 if it were not for the belly fat.

Exercising seems to be toning my upper body, while my lower body is not benefitting at all. Any success stories of getting rid of it.
