Advice???

I'm naturally an athletic person, having played very competitive ice hockey and softball in high school. But now that I'm in college, I don't have time to be as active as I was in high school. I try to go to the gym 3-5 times a week, but sometimes with schoolwork and stress it just doesn't happen. Along with being busy, I have this mindset of what my body should look like- I feel like I should have the "hockey body" I used to have. I haven't really gained too much weight, but I do have a slight stomach and love handles. This mindset has really warped my perception of myself, causing myself to constantly (and i mean like every other second..) think about my weight, my looks, the foods I eat, and compare myself to others. Every little stressful thing from every part of life just comes together, overall making me feel horrible.

So.. I've been trying to lose weight for the last 3 years, having my ups and downs, but never actually losing anything significant. I think if I just had someone to hold me accountable, I would be able to do much better. I can't tell any of my friends or my family because I don't want them to think I'm overreacting- making myself vulnerable to others is not something I'm fond of.. hence why I'm seeking advice online!

Does anyone have any advice as to get out of the mental rut that I've found myself in? I think if I start taking care of my self perception, I'll start to feel more motivated to tackle the other stresses in my life. I would really like anyone's advice- the more the better!

Thanks a lot :)
