Eating to few calories

I was talking with one of the trainers at my work and showed him my food log for the last 2 weeks and he told me i wasn't losing weight because i wasn't eating enough. hard words to hear. he told me my calories should be around 1700-2000 a day with my lifestyle and my body was holding because it didn't know when it would get more calories. he also said it's important to calorie jump i.e 1300 one day 1700 the next. so my body won't get use to anything and will have to keep working. not sure if i believe him, goes against everything i've trained myself to believe.
thought i'd put the theory to test and this weekend calorie loaded and will calorie deprive for the first 3 days of the week. i'll let you know how it goes.
so far i still haven't broken the 231/33 number. very frustrating.
he also told me that once i break though the plato i should loss 5-7lbs.
i trust him he really knows his stuff so i will just keep keeping on see what happens. interested to know if any of you have also heard this theory or know anything about it.
happy November!!!
