What is it with the Peanut Butter Craving?!?!
On a normal basis I like peanut butter and will very occaisionally have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. However, when I'm really trying to reign it in and cut back on calories (I have about 8 lbs to lose so not too low, nothing under 1400 a day with exercise) I CRAVE peanut butter badly. I don't understand this at all. I want to go to the jar and just eat a spoonful or two to satisfy the craving but that KILLS my daily intake of fat and calories because this is usually bringing me over my norm. I have some more fit/nutritional peanut butter I buy for myself that you mix with water that actually tastes really good that I eat with celery or apples etc, has extremely low calories and almost no fat at all but when I really crave it I have to have the REAL stuff. What could it be that when I'm eating more healthy I crave this stuff like nothing else, not even chocolate! I eat well, I eat several small meals a day, lots of fruits, veg, omelets, etc so I really don't feel deprived so that can't be it! By the way I eat a handful of sliced almonds mixed in my yogurt most mornings and sometimes on my salads so it can't be the nutrients in nuts I'm missing along with the other p-butter I'm eating??
Anybody else have a craving like this or have any answers as to why?
