Looking for tips= church w/ a 15 mo old :)
OK I will take any suggestions here. My husband and I go to church weekly, w/ our 15 mo old perhaps you hear us there.:) He is of course adorable and really very tall and big for his age,we love him so much he truly is a gift to us, anyway onto my point, he is very verbal (in his own made up languge) he wants to sing (when everyone has stopped, he claps and begins his own verses) then it is onto saying hi to everyone, waving to all around. Then it is onto just loud outbursts and climbing onto the pew.
So what we have tried to delay the inevitable (going out to the vestibule AKA back of church at entrance) is we bring books which he loves and soft blocks, something that when falls does not echo through the church. We also bring one cup of milk and a few treats was cheerios now it is small crackers. This only works for ashort time , today about 12 min, mass=an hour.
So do you have any thoughts? I do not and will not give up going to mass my husband and I rotate taking him out and holding him. I know it is developmental stage it is so hard to reason when they can not really be reasoned w/ at this age even though we have firmly looked and spoken to him when he gets too loud. He is an active little guy, and yet no other time are we so frusterated, ya know like going out to eat not a problem.
So at this point my husband and I are so frusterated and just want your opinion on what may have worked for you, or perhaps when this phaze ends it has been going on for about a month and was the worst today.
Thanks for your help.
