Depressed because I am on a diet

Even though I am overweight, I never had the lack of self esteem associated with it. Neither the depression...the binge eating...the night snacking. My weight is def. from not eating the right food and not moving enough. I decided to make this lifestyle change because of two things, 1) a bridemaid dress I am forced to wear and 2) I am trying to get debt free. Alot of my money is spent on buying clothes because I never have anything that fits anymore. I am now diverting shopping money to paying off the car, student loans and credit card bills. Which forces me to wear what I already have which in turn means I need to loose this weight! Might be silly reason's for some of you but these are my reasons and so far so good. But now I am sad all the time. I am currently doing a low fat, low calorie, high fiber diet. I don't feel starved, I don't always feel hungry, I'm not always thinking about food like some diets make you feel. I feel my life is being strangled. I always thinking about how many calories, how much fiber...I've stopped making plans with friends because there will be nothing on the menu for me to eat . Drinking is not even an option because it will kill all the efforts I've put in for the day. I never used to think this way and now all I can think about. My life feels restricted as I am such a social person! St. Paddy's day was so bad...I stayed home and tried not to cry because I wanted to be at the pub drinking some guiness and hanging out. All I want ot do is cry. It is making extremely sad and very depressed. I was never a depressed person before. Shouldn't I be feeling an excess of happiness because I getting in shape and getting healthier? I am hoping this will pass...Maybe it's my body's adjustment to my new regimen and hopefully my mind will calm down a bit.
