the last 10 pounds, again PLEASE HELP!!

i've never joined any of these weight loss type groups but i figured might as well give it a try! i am 20 years old and probably have been trying to lose 5 - 10 pounds since I was 14...sad, i know...

i am 5 3, and athletic... i've always figured 10 pounds and I'd be at my bests... in high school I'd do the fad diet cycles, but I'd always end up right back where I started... since then Ive been trying to lose it "healthily".. i work out 6 days a week burning anywhere from 450 - 1000 calories (in this I sometimes include extra walking that I like to do; typical workout then would be walking for an hour (3 miles) and going on the elliptical for 40.. or some kind of abs/gym class/running/tennis.

my diet could use some work but i try pretttyyy hard to stick to 1200 - 1400 calories, and have been trying harder to eat "healthy" foods, as opposed to just portioning out my calories to reach that ultimate goal for the day.. i do "mess up" like once to twice every week though.. eating more than intended, etc.

i've been trying to do this FOREVER..it's quite the tantalizing obsession..although there are more and less salient times.. i was hoping you guys would have some suggestions? do i need to be absolutely perfect on my diet to achieve this goal?? that's how it's starting to seem..
