To weigh myself, or not to weigh myself? That IS the question.

Hello there,

I am a 21 year old (today actually!) female. I began a diet on Friday, December 18th, and have decided to try and weigh myself every Friday since. I am attempting to lose ten pounds, the healthy way. So far (for those of us math majors :) ), it's been one week and I'm doing really well! I've lost 2.5 pounds (which I realize is slightly high).

My issue lies in the fact that my period is due on January 1st. Now, I know that I, personally, have about a week long premenstrual time in which my weight fluctuates (for the worse). I know I will be very discouraged if I weigh myself next Friday (a couple days before my period is due) and I weigh more, rather than less even though I am cognizant of my tendency toward premenstrual weight gain. I was considering just waiting two weeks and weighing myself a couple days after my period is over. This sounds like a fine plan, except if I continued this - I'd really only be weighing myself about twice a month.

Any thoughts ladies?
