OT - What should I do with my life?
Hi there. I know this is a forum for weight loss, etc. but I figure I've seen a lot of good advice floating around, so why not utilize my resources? I am a graduating college student (this semester). I was planning on going on to get my pHD in social psychology, after taking one to two years to work in a lab studying certain familial relations. (My major in college has been brain and cognitive science in addition to psychology). In all honesty, I'm pretty "good at" reviewing and synthesizing current literature, tweaking it to search under some novel notions. This path would lead to an academic life as a researcher/professor. However, recently it's dawned on me that I may not be passionate, involved, dedicated, and mostly, patient enough for this life style. I am interested in pursuing knowledge, because it's just plain interesting, but more so than that I've always enjoyed what can be considered "optimal challenges" - or a task with some "zing". The academic life style is more rigorous and laid back, and I am looking for something a bit more "active", something that moves a bit more quickly, and something that I can excel in. Preferably it would be a very social job, involving people. However, I feel like my options are very limited. I would be willing to pursue schooling in almost anything after investigating the intended field substantially. This is a very selfish post and if anybody takes the time to read and respond to it, I'd be very grateful. I just know there is a wide array of people out there (represented well "in here") and I am at a loss for what jobs even EXIST. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks. :)
