Dealing with 'mothering' relatives

Sometimes I get a little too much mothering from my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law, when it pertains to my kids. Mostly they are trying to be helpful with suggestions or offers (Does he need a drink? Does she need a snack? His hands are cold, does he need a jacket? Does she need a diaper? Is it their nap time?) We all love each other, just sometimes it gets to be too much when we're all together.

My own mother never questions me like that concerning the kids, because she had this problem with her own mother and decided that she would not be that way. She enjoys the time with family and grandkids, without any need to frequently question me about the kids.

How have some of you moms (and dads?) dealt with family who think they need to regularly put in their two cents?
