Feeling a bit helpless

This week I discovered the scale had gone up 2lbs. I am beyond frusterated!
I've been eating basically fruits and vegetables all last week (two deserts the entire week, low sodium, low calorie 1,500-1,800 a day), and into this week. Drinking only water and tea (just guzzling down water). And yet here is a nice and beautiful extra 2lbs. I work out every other day 30-45 minutes which includes weight lifting, aerobics and sometimes swimming.
I feel lighter, in fact my stomach is less bloated and has tightened up. Because I am back in college for the semester I climb A LOT of hills. Constantly. My legs are getting stronger again but I am beyond frusterated.
I started birth control last week and I suspect some foul play there... but maybe I am just blaming a pill for something I don't know.

I should start my period in about a week, so I don't know if a lot of this is just PMS water weight, but the way I drink water it shouldn't be like that, yet I feel a bit bloated.

My Birth Control is Avaine... a low estrogen dosage.
I am really tempted to just say "screw this" and throw them out if my weight continues to grow.
