When Should I Work Out?
I would like to know what the best time of the day to work out is? Ive heard its better to do it in the morning, cus it boosts your metsbolism and keeps it going faster thoughout the day....but Ive also been told to work out at night??? Who's right and who's wrong??

Since working out is supposed to be a habit, then it's all about how it best fits into your life. If you're exhausted when you come home from work, then you need to do it earlier in the day. If the only time you have available for it is 9-10pm, then that's when you do it.
When I tried Weight Watchers, I had a few different leaders encourage us to split up our 30 mins of activity into, like, 2 x 15-min walks for the sake of boosting your metabolism throughout the day. Eating more than 3 meals a day has a similar effect.
If your lifestyle and schedule cannot accommodate whatever the prevailing research of the day claims to be optimal, don't worry about it - just do it. After all, someone has probably done a study showing that whatever you end up doing is perfect.

when to exercise?
Hi there, first visit here; there are a whole lot of opinions on when to work out, but what I'm reading most is that working out soon after you get up in the morning ( and haven't eaten breakfast yet) helps to jump start the ole metabolism
and get you burning. And remember to eat breakfast within an hour of that.
For me, I've been finally serious about weight loss and fitness for four months and have taken off 50 lbs. as of last weigh-in; I started off doing the stationery bike only ten minutes first thing in the am ( and almost dropped dead doing that); now I'm up to an early am and mid-afternoon bike session for a total hour every aerobic day ( do four days aerobic, three days weight training now).
As the last poster said, whenever you do it is really the best time, as long as you do it. If you can't incorporate it into your life without a hassle, it won't stick. Also agree with the "more than three meals" plan. I eat five times a day and keep a food journal--nothing after 7 pm.
You really have to exoeriment a little and see what works for you ( and enjoy the ride!)

The common response is to exercise when you are most consistantly likely to do it; however, a recent study in Health magazine showed that people who exercise in the morning are more likely to still be exercising regularly 6 months later. Also, I personally think having an exercise session under your belt before you start the rest of the day makes everything go better, and there is always a chance to slip in more activity later if you are feeling really good.
Not easy to hear I know if you are living in a part of the country where it is still dark and cold in the morning.

This New Year's Resolution I resolved to excercise in the morning. As in everything it takes a lot of adjustment and will. Make it a habit, just like brushing your teeth. No ifs no buts, just go through the motion of putting on your excercise clothes, wearing your shoes and before you know it the music takes over and you are panting and sweating.
