EMAIL THREAD
The purpose of Peer Trainer.
You can post threads about whatever you want to! But the whole purpose of this site is to be uplifting!! I just got on, and have read all the threads, and every single comment everyone has left in response to the original thread has been terribly pointless. We are supposed to be supporting eachother in weightloss. And in any other circumstance! If you can't be nice, or just ''turn the other cheek'' get off! I want to lose weight, and feel good and be supported! Not brought down!

I am supported every day. The threads have truth in them and sometimes, people view the truth as being "unsupported". Sometimes we don't see the world as it is, we see the world as we are. This is the most positive place I am during my entire day.

think you let others do whatever they want and if you don't like the negative comments others make, take your advice and turn the other cheek.
I ignore all that crap and read what interests me, not garbage.

It seem hypocritical to complain about others not being upbeat and supportive.

I noticed that recently people have been (relatively) nice. Not so much of the hating as there was a few months ago.

what I find hard is that it seems like there is a fine line between being honest ande being dubbed "non-supportive". I agree wholeheartedly that some of the posts can be just down right rude and nasty but I also think that sometimes there are hard things that need to be said.
It's a lot easier to bang off a positive supportive post than it is to find a tactful way to say something that is said in kindness and caring but may be a little hard to hear. I just wish that if a poster doesn't have the energy to make sure they are saying something difficult in a nice way, that they leave it for others who are going to take the time! We certainly don't all have to be "yes-people" but there are definitely nicer ways to say things than we sometimes see around here!
Jumping all ove the OP and labelling her as a hypocrit seems like case-in-point of the useless type of posts OP is talking about! It's clear what the intention of her post was - why rip it apart on semantics????

I think the purpose of Peertrainer is to lose weight! The bonus is getting support along the way from your groups/teams. Nobody forces anyone to read or participate in the public threads in my opinion!

I find that things turn ugly when two posters disagree, and one of them is offended that someone may have a differing view than they do. Everyone is entitled to their opinion here, even if it is hard to take sometimes, but so often the posts get OT about the original idea and descend into one on one battles between people with different opinions.
I have no problem with people being blunt, even harsh, as long as it's not cruel. OP's post asking for advice, help etc and they're at everyone's mercy and opinions when they do so. If they wanted to only hear what they want to hear, they should call their mothers and not put it on an open forum like this.
