What brought you happiness this week?

I have a beautiful life filled with many things of which to be grateful.

This week I found out that my sister-in-law is moving to my city! I couldn't be happier!

What was the best part of your week?

Perfect weather! A great life, a fabulous husband, and a wonderful kid. And, I have to admit - a killer dessert the other night after dinner :)

I got 2 flower beds cleaned up from last year's debris, planted and mulched and they look lovely - when those plants grow some more it's going to be an explosion of color that will cheer me all summer long. There's something about gardening that makes me happy. Did a bunch of pruning too and really got the curbs edged well and looking tidy. I love to come home to a house and yard that makes you want to go sit out on the patio! :-)

I'm happy today because I get to see my brother and his family tonight - we're going to cook out and just be mellow. Not sure what we'll make - I have an idea percolating for a very different (and healthy) chopped salad recipe since my brother doesn't like the tomatoes or peppers I put in my normal recipe. Coming up with healthy new recipes that have broad general appeal makes me happy too. :-)

Discovering new tools to identify and correct my weaknesses. Learning to be more forgiving and responsible, not letting others get to me, to control my responses.

Spending quality time with my boyfriend this past weekend. We spent every day outside doing yard work, planting a watermelon patch, checking on his bee hive, and working on my bike.

My teenage daughter telling that she has the best mom ever.
But then I had to come down on her last night, so she may have changed her mind, lol.

Spending time with my 22 month old nephew. Having him sit with me in a chair that once was only big enough to hold me and now we sit togther. Having him hug me and say, "I got you" Or kiss my owies and tell me " I uv you" Or just look up at me and say, "Friend" That is what make my heart smile.

Spending time with my family this last weekend. Not focusing on food but conversation and just loving eachother and realizing we are so blessed to be together and after recent health scares that we are all still alive.
I think about it all the time, I have the best family.
Life isn't perfect by any means but there is joy.

Finally, trying on clothes that haven't fit ever or for years and I can now wear them. I am taking care of me, loving me and all the hard work is paying off.
I am happy I am alive.

I'm just back from a dissatisfying vacation, which really opened my eyes to how much I actually like my day-to-day life.

And I absolutely love this weather - warm but not hot, cool in the mornings and evenings, beautiful sunshine!

I went and weighed in yesterday and my total loss is 208 pounds (1 year, 1 month) and I am proud of myself.
Might sound funny but it takes a lot for me to acknowledge my own achievements.
And then I went clothes shopping for the first time in over 3 years and I haven't seen myself in a full length mirror since before I lost all that weight so when I saw myself for the first time I was stunned. I was finally able to see a difference. I mean really see it. I am so excited. The hard work is paying off. Big time.
Be encouraged all, your dreams can come true.

Learning a couples/group dance and dancing with a good lead at our city's annual huge folk festival. It was SO fun dancing, again. Its something I so love to do but don't do very often for physical reasons. My goal now is to slowly get back into it.

Spending time with my grandchildren. My 5 year old granddaughter stayed with me for the weekend, and then I got to see my 5 month old grandson when son & dil picked up granddaughter. What a joy!

As long as the rent & utilities are paid, I have nice fruits & veggies in the fridge & staples in the pantry, and time to spend with my children and grandchildren, what more could I want?

Life is good...

(check out my public profile & see if you can help me figure out how to get rid of more weight on a more regular basis -- it's going really slow...)
