vit. c deficiency on atkins / other low carb programs?

I was wondering if anyone has heard or read anything about vit c levels on atkins? My gums get irritated and sore when I'm on this and it's not because of oral hygeine ( I'm always brushing and flossing) I'm afraid it's because of the lack of fruit and the limited veggies.

Please add any input or info you have!

Atkins is temporary and not a healthy diet.

Really? Are you a dietitian?

We recommend our patients to go low carb for so many purposes including quick weight loss, maintaining blood sugar levels, keeps the hormones steady, lower blood pressure, and more reasons. We also do recommend they keep fruits and veggies in their diet.

Back to the OP's Q: get Trader Joe's Multi-Vitamin with Mineral Antioxidants. Cheap and very effective-no starch.

The previous poster said two true things- that Atkins is temporary and is not healthy. And a multivitamin is not the best source of nutrients- fruits, vegetables are. If you are interested in educating yourself about nutrition, get a copy of Eat to Live.

eat a multivitamin - done.

If you are really paranoid about getting scurvy, just take a vitamin C pill too, say what you will about vitamins and pills, but you are not going to have a vit. c. deficiency if you are taking a vc pill every day there is just no way.

LOW CARB RULES ! !

LC is a way of life, not temporary.
