Some how I lost 8 lbs in 5 days

I have been stuck at 273, only gaining or losing the same half a pound, for over a month. SO I decided to change things up and eat 4xs "meals" a day and 2 small snacks... I also incorporated Alli into my plan, taking it at the the three more caloric meals (I had no "treatment effects" from it). Well it must have worked because I snuck a peek this morning and I am down to 265!! I am weighing in for real on Monday, and I hit the gym tomorrow and Sunday, so hopefully I could see 10 by then!!

I dont know if it is all water weight - i thought the heavier you are the easier it is to drop multiple lbs a week - and if you are just trying to lose a few lbs to look better it is much more difficult.

Is this an advertisement?

Because if it is. I don't like this one bit.

Imagine 8 pounds of chicken fat or lard sitting on your kitchen table. It takes up a lot of room. I'm sorry but its highly doubtful you lost 8 pounds of adipose tissue in 5 days. You may have lost a little bit but I have to agree with the earlier poster, it was probably mostly water.

Yes, but think about how many calories it takes to support that much weight. You could still take in a reasonable amount of calories and lose quite a bit. People who go through gastric bypass lose in the double digits. It is possible.

OP - I hope the changes you have made are healthful. Congrats on losing, I hope this spurs you on until you reach your goal weight!

Water weight, body fat weight - the OP netted a loss and that is to be congratulated! The OP is excited, he/she is motivated to start exercising - these are all good things.

Thank you PP, for gosh sakes let the poor lady celebrate a big loss in numbers and keep up with the positive changes. Who the hell cares if it is water weight? It came off and the scale is going down. It is motivating to her. It is great when the numbers are that high. GIve her a break already.

Congrats and keep up the gym and healthy eating. You will keep seeing progress! :) I was there! I know!
