What's the scoop with.....

Benefiber and other fiber supplements?

I've been hearing a lot of talk about people using fiber supplements as powder added to their drinks and foods. It's supposed to help curb appetite and "regulate your system" if you know what I mean.

Is it safe? Does anybody know of any reason why it wouldn't be a good idea to use one of these fiber supplements on a daily basis? I'd love to jump start my current slow progress (I'm getting rid of weight but it's never more than a few oz a week, sometimes a really lucky week will be a lb).

Looking forward to hearing from anybody who uses one of the products, or works in the health care field and has more insight into their use.
