losing weight by dieting

I know that I'll get a lot of greif from this, but I'd like to put it out there. I think in a group so diverse in age, weight, etc, that this topic seems to be the one thing that most people can actually agree on. I've heard it said way to many times: "It's not about dieting, it's about changing your lifestyle."

I on the other hand just don't care. I've lost 15 lbs now in 5 weeks from counting calories. I'm not worried about nutrition. I'm not worried that I have a lean cuisine everyday. I don't worry that I'm not making a lifestyle change. I gained weight because of a lifestyle change (eating out too much). So I lose the weight and stop eating out. And never worry about eating healthily just as I did before.

I've heard a lot about the whys of eating well. I've taken a nutrition course (only because it was required) and have heard enough lectures. I'm not going to change. But this sort of message seems to get your head cut off in this forum. When a mother says, what's the best diet for my thirteen year old (don't diet, change lifestyle), when a newbie says which diet works best for you (it's not about dieting, but changing your lifestyle), or when someone proudly says they are following the Atkins diet and it's working for them (it won't help you in the long run, take the long approach and just change your lifestyle).

I'm really getting tired of it. It's enough to put it out there. I say stop shoving it down people's throats. Not everyone is ready to make a lifestyle change. And I say that losing weight has health benefits of their own, that those people that don't want to change their lifestyle yet want to lose weight shouldn't be shunned as they do hear.
