Knee Pain - MRI Results - Can somebody help explain?!

Hi, this is my first post!

So, about 6 months ago I had a scan done on my right knee (after hurting it playing soccer) and the findings were as follows:

Findings:

Articular cartilage is well-preserved at all 3 compartments.
Axial images 9-12 demonstrate apparent laxity of the medial patellar retinaculum, which appears relatively thinned medially and slightly thickened laterally. The appearance may be related to previous injury with stretching of the retinaculum.

1. No meniscal tear
2. Mild lateral patellar subluxation, unlikely related to minimal fluid signal distention of the lateral pouch of the suprapatellar bursa.
3. Apparent laxity of the medial patellar retinalculum may represent sequela of previous capsular strain.

Does this mean that it is ok to run? I recently started running again and my right knee is always quite red afterward and slightly swollen. There is also a hard bump in the knee, that seems to be more prominent after running. (It is slightly noticeable before running - my left knee has a similar bump, but does not swell after running).

Any feedback really would be much appreciated :) Thanks
