Help! How to deal with rude "food pushers"?

I lost 30 pounds over 2 years and got to my goal weight. I have stayed on PT to help me maintain my weight and increase my fitness. However, this year I have been having GI problems, and at the beginning of this month I was diagnosed with gall bladder problems. Now I cannot get an appointment with a gastroenterologist before January 27!! In the meantime, I find that staying away from fats & cholesterol keeps me from being in very much pain, although I am still uncomfortable a lot of the time. (I do not need to lose weight -- in fact, I need to not lose weight.)

Chocolate is the worst -- instant ouch! But no cheese, no egg yolks, no meat that isn't x-tra lean and therefore tasteless, etc. No cookies, pies, cakes, pastries or other holiday goodies. No nuts, nut butters, ice creams, shellfish, cocoa, egg nog and geez, I don't dare even try alcohol. I'm not very happy about this, but at least I can still eat chili peppers, LOL!

I never was a totally nonfat-diet person, but at least that was a choice I could make or not. This is not a choice.

My problem -- and I'm sure a LOT of people on PT can help me -- is people who JUST CAN'T KEEP THEMSELVES from remarking or pushing the limit. I spent 4 days back home with my father making fun of me and my mother cooking things in oil and telling me they're good because they're not in butter. (No fat and "good" fat are different things!) Went out to dinner with friends and they were SURE that if they ordered bread pudding I would eat it. A lot of places my friends like to go have everything swimming in visible oil, so I go just for the company rather than to eat, but then they badger me to eat stuff!

I have tried giving a complete explanation of the problem, but either it doesn't register or most people do not understand what "fat" is. Is there any way to get others to respect my limitations?

Thanks for your advice.
