Is it just me or have pants legs become a lot longer and skinnier?

Every time I go shopping, I see "average" pants legs measuring 32-33.5" and "Short" pants legs measuring 30-31". I'm 5'3" and I have pants back from the 80s that fit me great and they are labeled "average" but have anywhere from a 29-31" inseam. I doubt that the average woman suddenly grew 2-4 inches longer just on their legs in the last 2 decades. What height woman are they designing for? Even my husband who used to be able to find 30 inch inseam pants, seemingly can only find 32s or 34s.

Also the legs and arms are a heck of a lot skinnier. I have an hourglass shape and some pretty thick thighs to hold up my butt and It seems that I have to squeeze into the thigh area and also, a lot of shirts in my size seem to squeeze my arms and I don't have very large arms in my opinion. Even the curvy jeans just seem to be bigger in the butt but not much larger in the thighs.

Anyone notice this too?
