To parents who struggle with meshing their calorie needs with the family dinners...

The February 2010 Family Circle Magazine has a feature of several low calorie dinners that you can fix for the entire family, and several more pages of recipes which may not be what we call low-cal, but could certainly be lowered by ingredient substitutions, or smaller portions of main dish and additions of salads, etc. After all, our families need to eat in a healthy manner as well. Why spend money for special 'diet' food and feed your children Mac and Cheese (or worse)? Let's start feeding everybody smaller portions of real food!

The magazine is only $1.99 and I have no financial interest in it.

The recipes are NOT, I repeat, NOT vegetarian or vegan, so please do not flame me, telling me you bought the magazine and they had meat. The majority of parents are not vegetarian or filled with food intolerances. And this is a suggestion for most parents. Let's turn this child obesity/picky eater epidemic around and share non fast food meals again.
