kids' health and nutrition

I don't want to get into child obesity issues (don't get me started!), but I wanted to share a link I found today that might be helpful for parents who want to give their kids healthier food.
I think I'm like a lot of parents - at least those of us who are trying to get healthier ourselves. We limit our kids' junk food and sugar and make sure they get some daily exercise, but know we could be doing better.
This booklet (pdf format) has some good info, as well as meal & snack suggestions and serving sizes based on age.
It has been a good jumping-off point for me. My goal is to give my family a health makeover, and get us all on the same page. In the past, I've made healthier meals for myself, but continued to let the kids get by with their often-less-healthy favorites. No more. If it's good for me, it's good for all of us. We are all going to start eating healthier!
Because I'm the mom and I said so! : )
