Luna Bars
I'm trying to get rid of some extra pounds.
I try to fit a Luna bar in around 4:30 each day. It will normally get me through my 1.5 hour workout which is followed by dinner.
The package says 180 calories, 40 calories from fat, 10 grams of protein, 13 grabs sugars and 27 grams total carbs.
Are these worth it ? I feel very full after eating them but are they helping or hurting? thanks!

If 180 calories can get you through a 1.5 hour workout that burn 500+ calories then cool. I am sure that the sugar and fat will get some negative responses here, and this is not as ideal as some other snacks, but if it works for you and the rest of your diet is healthy you will be fine - go for it.
...what else are you eating?

I love luna bars and think they are a great pre-workout snack - my problem is if i keep them around the house I will eat them when I don't necessarily need them because they are chocolate-y and candybar like. If you dont have those issues then LUNA-on girl!

I love Luna bars and have been a regular consumer for YEARS! Surprisingly, the best price I have found is at Whole Foods - $1/bar. I think Trader Joe's is the same price, but not as a big of a selection.

I love Luna bars too. They help me get through workouts as well. Very filling and most of the flavors are pretty good!

Op here
They do the trick on keeping me full... I just wasn't sure if the carbs and sugars were too high.
I really only snack on fruit otherwise... grapes, strawberries, oranges, bananas...

I am also a big fan of MoJo bars

but OP... how many calories per day do you eat overall?? If you are already eating enough and the 180 puts you over your BMR + wokout cals then you'll have to readjust somewhere. If not then gtg

I love Luna bars but they have too many carbs for me. Target has them for less than $1/bar

I 2nd the thing about the mojo bars. Although I believe they have high fruitose corn syrup in them (what doesn't?).

Op Again
The luna bars fit into my calorie intake for the day. I eat them and an orange for my afternoon snack.
I'm not really a calorie counter though my meals look like this:
AM - simple harvest oatmeal + grapes + strawberries
AM - mid morning snack on rest of fruit
LUNCH - 1/2 turkey sandwhich + carrotts
PM - Orange + Luna Bar
WORKOUT
PM (right after workout) - small apple
8:00 - Chicken salad for dinner
THAT"s IT.... what do you think ?

Luna bars have chocolate and all these other ingredients like corn syrup. Which give you a high glycemic lvl, its just a candy bar in desguise. I suggest you just eat a Apple or banana with a tablespoon of All natural Peanut butter.

PP: that is incorrect. I just read the ingredients on a Luna bar - no HFCS.
