Carb cycling/Eat your way thin diet by Joel Marion

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Diet called Eat Your Way Thin
by Joel Marion. It's a carb cycling diet. !st week low carb, 2nd week low glycemic, 3rd week mod/high glycemic. Day 22 you get a chest day-no restrictions just eat in moderation. Then you follow 2 days low carb, 2 days low glycemic, 2 days mod/high glycemic, cheat day and repeat the pattern.
The idea is to trick your body out of starvation mode so you start burning fat.
Sounds good in theory, but does it really work?
