Diet Soda Weight Gain

Diet soda has been marketed as a weight loss product for years. Recently some studies have come out that have shown that diet soda can actually cause weight gain.

An email we were sent this morning is a pretty shocking example of how that new research may well be true:

"I have a couple of facts to share from my personal experiences regarding
sugar.

I gained 80 pounds in 7 months when my Coke Zero addiction reached
2-liters a day. I had never drank diet soda before; but once I started, I
couldn't stop. I have since switched to sweet tea and stopped the diet
soda, and the weight gain has stopped (even though I'm now consuming more
real sugar). I am a 38 year old in perimenopause. My thyroid is normal
and overall health excellent.

Years ago, I broke the sugar addiction through abstinence. I cut out all
sugar and white flour, and in about 3 weeks, I lost the taste for anything
sweet. But a couple of days drinking sodas, and I was back to where I
started. What's weird is that the regular Coke tasted horrible at that
point, but I drank it anyway....makes no sense. It's almost as if I were
purposely self-sabotaging for reasons of which I'm not consciously aware."

There is a lot of stuff going on with this persons comment, but we did want to start a discussion on this very interesting subject.

When it comes to sugar addiction, we always say that sugar is a beast. There is a nutritional component, and when people radically increase their green vegetables, onions, mushrooms, beans, berries and seeds we consistently see that people start to get an upper hand on sugar and food addiction.

The psychological component is huge as well. Hypnosis is a proven tool. PoNR has been helpful for many.

For those of you who have "slayed this beast" can you share your tips and insights?
