bad shopping experience - sorry for the "all caps"

CHECK THIS OUT FOR BAD EXPERIENCE - I HAVE TO GO TO FLORIDA FOR WORK, IT IS AN ORDEAL TO FIND SOMETHING THAT WILL LOOK PROFESSIONAL, NICE AND THAT I DON'T LOOK LIKE A STUFFED SAUSAGE IN OR LIKE A FAT OLD FRUMP. HAD TO PURCHASE IN THE MACY'S WOMENS SECTION, SIZE 16 AND SIZE 18. ALSO WENT TO LANE BRYANT AND GOT A BUNCH OF THINGS THAT FIT ME PERFECT (INCLUDING SOME RINGS AND BRACELETS SINCE THE NORMAL STUFF DOESN'T FIT ME AND HASN'T FIT ME IN FOREVER. ALL THE WHILE LOOKING THROUGH THE GLASS ACROSS THE HALL OVER TO THE LIMITED WHICH IS WHERE I BELONG - NOT IN THIS FAT ASS STUFF!!! ALSO, THE LADIES WORKING AT LANE BRYANT HAD BOWLS OF CHOCOLATE OUT EVERYWHERE FOR THE CUSTOMERS, THEY WERE PUSHING IT ON PEOPLE LIKE A DRUG. HOW ON EARTH COULD YOU WANT TO EAT CHOCOLATE WHILE SHOPPING IN THAT STORE? MAYBE IF THEY HAD A BOWL OF RAZOR BLADES I WOULD HAVE TAKEN ONE. UGH! PUSHING THEIR LANE BRYANT CREDIT CARD ON ME AND COUPONS - I WANTED TO SAY "I DON'T WANT TO EVER SHOP IN HERE AGAIN WHY WOULD I WANT ALL THAT AND WHY WOULD I BE CHOWING DOWN ON YOUR CHOCOLATE" GEESH I CANT TAKE SHOPPING THIS WAY. I CAN'T TAKE DRESSING THIS WAY OR LIVING THIS WAY. I NEED TO GET CRACKIN IF I'M GOING TO BE IN FRIEND'S POOLS THIS SUMMER AND NOT LIKE A FAT DAMN FRUMP.

Give me a break, have you read what you wrote. Direct your anger where it should go, yourself. Those women are only doing their job. It is not their fault you let yourself get fat!!! I could go on and on, but i'm sure you've got the picture.

not to mention their coupons are great! For Christmas, I bought myself a whole new wardrobe THREE sizes smaller than my largest size. I saved 65% off my total bill! Can't go wrong.

It sounds to me like you need to accept yourself the way you are. You cannot change the things you don't acknowledge. Once I realized I was fat and stopped beating myself (and everyone else) up for it and stopped being jealous of people who were thinner than me, I started changing small things here and there and they pounds started coming off. I stopped being embarrassed every time I walked into the fat lady isle. That's who I am NOW, doesn't mean that's who I am going to be later. This won't work for everyone, but it sounds like you're ready for change. You need to decide what you are going to do to get you there.

I agree with 4:16.
This is a monster of your own creation, if you are so unhappy do something about it. Did you ever think that those women were trying to make it a positive shopping experience for the customers.

If you go into some of the upscale "skinny girl" boutiques they give you chocolate and sometimes champagne. I've even had a bartender mix a martini - in the store. The stores are just trying to create a fun and comfortable atmosphere. You hang out, spend more and you're likely to go back.

I kept waiting to hear what was so bad in the shopping experience. You found something to wear, and some new acessories. That's a positive. Like you, I don't want to have to shop there, so I'm working hard to get back into other sizes. Until then, I have been glad that I could find a pair of jeans or a skirt when I needed them. Sounds as though that store saved you for your business trip!

The chocolate in the store gave me a giggle. A good way to insure that we need to stay in the sizes. I simply said "no thank-you" and didn't eat any.

Sorry you had a frustrating shopping trip. We've all had those "feeling fat and frumpy days". So, let's keep moving and making wise diet choices and kiss the bigger sizes goodbye.

Have a great trip to Florida.
