Calories Burned-The Truth?
Ok, everyone says it takes a lot of exercise to burn calories. Well, I went on Prevention.com and it says if I walk 4 mph for 30 minutes I burn close to if not over 200 calories(i don't remember the exact number) What is the true amount you burn? Because if this is accurate I can walk for an hour and a half and go eat a cake! lol

It depends on your weight, but yes, walking can burn between 4-7 calories per minute. A larger person burns more calories than a smaller one.
Also, you may want to rethink a "whole" cake... 600 calories is more like one piece, depending on the cake.

...and here I think 'geez, I can eat a snickers bar in 1 minute, but it takes more than 30 minutes of exercise to burn it off - I can't imagine how much exercise it would take to burn off a piece of cheesecake' - it's all a matter of perspective :-)

A person will, on average, burn around 100 cals by walking or running a mile. Depending on your size/stride length, weight, etc., that figure isn't exact, but it's an approximate.
So yes, walking 4mph for half an hour will burn around 200 calories (it's about 2 miles). That's a pretty fast walking pace to maintain for an hour and a half! Or, if it's not, then you must have really long legs, in which case you probably burn a little less per mile than someone with a shorter stride.
