?Too routine?

I feel as though i'm always hungry, even though i'm eating 1300 calories a day! To maintain my weight (i'm 5'9, 130 lbs) it says I should be eating around 1700 calories, but whenever I do that I feel as though i'm gaining weight or that i'm bloated. I was wondering if maybe my routine eating is making me this way. I have a bowl of special k cereal with fruit every morning, a sandwhich or yogurt for lunch, a south beach diet bar or south beach diet cookies for a snack, or an apple, and then dinner. Will eating different foods everday make me feel less hungry? Even since I lost 25 pounds i am TERRIFIED of gaining back even a pound! maybe this is all in my head but I can't help it! It's like a phobia!

Are you exercising at all? If so, then it seems like your calories are too low for maintenance range. Even if you're not exercising - you could still stand to add another 100 or so calories. Your BMR - which would be around 1300-1400 depending upon your age - calculates the number of calories you need if you were to stay in bed all day. So, again - you're probably not eating enough to stay in maintenance range = hunger.

Another reason you may be hungry - you're not eating very good food - between the Special K, the diet bars and the diet cookies - there's not much substance there. Try adding real food - whole grains, lean proteins, leafy greens - something other than packaged food.

You are definitely not eating enough. Don't do this to your metabolism, because the damage is long-term.

try having an egg for breakfast, just a yogurt for lunch would make you hungry, eat more fruits during the day, a cup of grapes, a banana, an orange, something that will take you longer than 5 seconds to eat. SIT DOWN & EAT ALSO. give yourself time to digest the food, you may just be chowing down on the meal bars & not even tasting them. Its easy to be at work, on the phone, typing, looking at the computer, speaking to someone & look, its already gone...oh but I still feel hungry. Do eat more, please, what are your dinners like? PLus I think you should mix it up a little, if you eat the same everyday, your body starts to adjust to what calories you get & when. Don't be afraid of food, it is there to help you survive, you just need to eat the proper things. For my snack in the morning or afternoon(I switch them up) I like to have a rice cake w/ 1 tsp reduced fat Peanut Butter, it takes awhile to eat & it has protein. This helps me get through my lull. Goodluck, please be careful
