I feel the 'hungries' coming on and my will power is leaving fast! HELP!

Talk to me and help me get through this hungry period.

Go do something that you can not do with food. Like take a bath, organize your drawers, do your nails, wash your dog. If you tend to snack while on the PC it's time to call it a day and do something else. (just let us know in the morning how things went for you)

Drink water!

Are you REALLY hungry? Or just thirsty? I would drink a lg glass of water and wait 20 min. If you are still hungry, eat fruit, light popcorn or some protien (best bet this late at night).
You will be fine!
I know you will make healthy food choices and let us know in the am~!

94% FF microwave popcorn...

...is a lifesaver. Drink lots of water.

And sometimes you really are just hungry. Try to let yourself eat until you're satisfied, but ONLY healthy foods. Are you getting enough fat and protein in your diet?

Thanks for all the good comments. I stayed on the computer for 10 more minutes and then I went upstairs and passed by a bowl of cheetos...i fell...but I only had 5 of them and went to bed. So I count myself good! Thanks. Debbie

I'm curious, how are bowl of cheetos just lying around? Much to tempting for most of us.

Two suggestions:
When you are hungry, eat things like sugar free jello or sugar free ice pops or green veggies.

Second and MOST IMPORTANT, you have to become aware of what emotions you are feeling that historically moves you to eat. As many of us know, there is a direct relationship between emotions and binge eating. The long term quest is to understand those relationships, allow yourself those feelings, and manifest those emotions in a different manner than eating. Even though I lost 205 lbs, this is still a struggle I fight and always will fight.

Hang in there.

Bowl of cheetos

Well...I have a 17 year old daughter that leaves things laying around and the bowl of cheetos was one that she was eating and just left upstairs. She is the thin little thing that we all want to look like...so she can eat anything she wants! Debbie

thin kids

Wow, I can relate to that! My 15 y/o son is a competitive swimmer and water polo player, growing like a weed, and almost no body fat. He is encouraged to eat healthy food (which I cook) however, he is allowed junk food "treats" . He is also aware that at his age, I was also naturally thin, so good eating and exercise habits are important. He tries to be considerate, as he knows how hard I am trying to lose, so he doesn't flaunt it. It's all the nurses with whom I work, leaving out tempting treats for a 12 hr shift, who I have a hard time with!! Good luck with temptation, I have actually taken up knitting, just so I can pick it up when the cravings get bad. (just a simlpe scarf) I can't eat and knit simultaneously, so it really helps! Debs
