High C-Reactive Protein?

I'm trying to lose weight to see if my C-Reactive Protein level of 35 will go down. It's an inflammation marker and although I have been tested for every malady under the sun....the doctor can't figure out what's wrong other than the fact that my weight may be contributing to this......anyone else have this problem or can relate? Does losing weight bring this number down?

Apparently anything more than 5 for this marker is too high......and indicates inflammation.

Wow! I could have written this post 2 months ago. My CRP was 35 then. After drastically changing my eating and exercise habits my CRP dropped to 27. I was hoping for a bigger drop but at least it's going in the right direction.

There is a fantastic book called "Stop Inflammation Now!" by Dr. Richard M. Fleming. It explains why inflammation is one of the leading causes of heart disease and how to treat it. There are 2 phases to his eating plan. Phase 1 is pretty drastic for folks like us who have unexplained, very high CRP. I do more of the Phase 2 plan and am considering doing the Phase 1 for these next 2 months to see just how much I can reduce my level in that time.

The "Pritikin Principle" is another great eating program that can help to significantly lower your CRP level. The book is out of print but I found it at my local library and later bought a copy from eBay.

OP Poster here......

Thanks for the advice Trish....I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem! I was so worried about this for so long especially when I was sent for tests for some pretty serious ailments.......I've decided that I'm going to be healthy and fit and try to solve the problem that way.....i'll have to check out the resources you've listed.......

Thanks for the advice!
