Push Up Question
Is it more beneficial to do "girl" style push ups that I can do really well, or regular push ups that I can't do very well? Any thoughts?

what they made me do in military boot camp is do as many as you can properly, then do as many push ups from the knees as possible.

I second 9:01's advice
Your strength will increase. At first all I could do was 10 girl pushups. But in less than 1 month of doing it 1st thing in the morning and last thing at night, I can do 30 guy pushups followed by 5 girl ones.

My personal trainer has me always do "guy" push-ups. When they were hard at first, or now when I'm at the end and I'm tired, the best alternatives are to either do guy push-ups but not go down as far, or to do push-ups off of an elevated bar. My gym has a machine where you can place a bar in stationary position about 1 1/2 ft off the ground, and I grip it and do push-ups from there, with my feet on the ground. You could do something similar at home from a low coffee table or similar (the lower to the ground, the more strength you build).

Boy push-ups are a total body move, similar to doing the plank on your elbows.
Thanks for reminding me that I should be working on this myself!

And also thank you for making this post about actual push-ups and not a bra style.
