I have such a defeatist attitude!

I only lost a pounds this week which made me sad. I started the gym this week and I was sure I would lose more. I wasn't eating very healthfully like normally, but I exercised which I normally don't. As I went to type in my measly 1 lb loss, I realized, this 1lb now puts me losing over 20 lbs all together. Granted I have a lot to lose (maybe I was expecting something more dramatic in the way of body shape after 20lbs) but I should be proud. Unfortunately the same defeating attitude that made me fail everytime before is trying to rear it's ugly head again.

Defeat wouldn't even be to gain a lb... even that might just be a weird fluctuation. Defeat would be to gain the 20 lb you already lost! And i lb is great! I've been eating well and working out and my scales haven't moved for three weeks... it happens! But I am convinced that there is some good stuff going on in my body, and that eventually, it will show!

I think 1lb is what you are "supposed" to lose in a week. Plus if you started working out, you are probably building muscle tissue, as well. I bet there are hundreds of pt women who'd trade with you in a second (I know I would!). :)

"If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you have won even before you have started." Marcus Garvey.

You lost a pound this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shout it loud and proud. On pound is better than a gain or staying the same. One pound is one more pound you will NEVER see again. Kiss him goodbye and keep walking! You did it!

Keep that chin up and have confidence you will lose another one. One pound at a time will get you to your goal faster than you realize.

Sounds like you've identified what gets in your way. The question is what are you going to do about it?
